What Happens After You Call

Three Steps From Broken To Fixed

1. Call & Describe The Problem

Call +1-866-805-8548 and describe what your system is doing — the symptoms help us send a tech prepared with the right parts.

2. We Inspect And Explain

A licensed technician arrives, runs a full diagnostic, and explains exactly what's wrong in plain language.

3. Job Finished, Then Checked Again

Most repairs are completed same-visit, and we test the system before we leave to confirm it's actually holding.

Local & Licensed

Straight Answers. Certified Techs. Real Availability.

Leonard HVAC was built by technicians who got tired of watching homeowners get oversold. Every technician we send to your door is background-checked, factory-trained, and licensed to work on the systems installed throughout York, AL.

We're not interested in being the cheapest quote on the page — we're the crew that answers the phone at 2am when your furnace quits in the middle of a cold snap. We carry the credentials York inspectors and property managers expect to see, and we keep that documentation available on request for every job, residential or commercial.

We know which neighborhoods run on older ductwork and which subdivisions were built with newer high-efficiency systems. That local knowledge shapes the parts we stock on the truck — it's the difference between a tech who's guessing and a tech who's seen your exact situation a hundred times before.

Ask around York and you'll hear the same complaint about a lot of HVAC companies. That's the gap we built Leonard HVAC to close. We track arrival windows, callback rates, and repeat-issue complaints internally so problems get caught before they become patterns, because a customer who trusts us once tends to call us again — and York is a small enough community that reputation travels fast.

When you call +1-866-805-8548, you're talking to someone who understands the local permitting process, the common equipment brands installed in York homes, and realistic scheduling given local demand. We keep parts inventory stocked based on what actually fails most often on York's housing stock.

Home Comfort

Residential Ductwork Repair Installation & Replacement

Not every repair call ends in a repair — sometimes the honest recommendation is a properly sized replacement. We walk York homeowners through load calculations so the new system is sized correctly for the actual square footage before a single piece of equipment gets ordered.

  • Ductless mini-split installation
  • Smart thermostat setup and integration
  • Clean, respectful installation crews

Every install ends with a performance test, confirming airflow, temperature split, and refrigerant charge are all where they should be before we consider the job finished.

Our Guarantee

What Happens If Something's Not Right

Guarantees only mean something if a company actually honors them, so here's exactly what ours covers.

Labor Backed In Writing

Every repair comes with a workmanship warranty explained in plain terms before we leave.

Fair Pricing, Verified

Emergency dispatch never comes with a hidden surcharge sprung on you after the fact.

Not Finished Until You Say So

A technician doesn't consider the job done until the system is tested and performing correctly.

Don't Wait Until It Fails

What York Homeowners Should Watch For

A little attention to how your system is running can save you a lot of money and discomfort.

New Sounds From The Unit

A healthy system runs with a consistent, low hum — banging, screeching, or grinding usually points to a loose part or failing motor.

Some Rooms Never Get Comfortable

This is one of the most common complaints we hear on service calls across York.

Rising Utility Bills

A tune-up often identifies exactly what's driving the extra energy use.

Frequent On-Off Cycling

This is one of the warning signs we recommend not waiting on.

Strange Odors

A musty smell often points to mold or moisture buildup somewhere in the ductwork.

You've Called For The Same Issue Twice

If you're calling about the same problem every few months, the underlying cause likely hasn't been fully addressed.

What Actually Breaks Down

The Most Common Causes Behind Our Service Calls

None of these are unusual or embarrassing — they're just the normal wear and tear that comes with running a system through York's seasonal swings.

Neglected Filter ChangesThe single most common cause of reduced airflow and frozen coils, and the easiest to prevent
Slow Leaks Over TimeLeaks often develop slowly at joints or coils and go unnoticed until performance drops noticeably
Worn Start ComponentsOften shows up as clicking sounds or a system that hums but doesn't turn on
Wiring IssuesSmart thermostat installs sometimes surface wiring incompatibilities that need professional correction
Keeping Your System Healthy Year-Round

What York Weather Does To Your Equipment

York's seasonal swings put real stress on a system that isn't maintained regularly. Before the coldest stretch of the year, a heating system benefits from a full safety inspection, checking the heat exchanger, ignition system, and airflow to catch any issue that could turn into a no-heat emergency.

Simple habits between professional visits also matter. None of this replaces a professional tune-up, but it does reduce the wear that leads to premature breakdowns between visits.

Brands & System Types

We Service Every Major System Type

Whether your York home has a traditional split system, a ductless mini-split, a heat pump, or a hybrid dual-fuel setup, our crews are equipped to diagnose and repair it. If your system was installed by a different company entirely, that's not a problem — we service equipment regardless of who originally put it in, and we'll pull the model and serial information to confirm parts compatibility before any repair begins.

FAQ

What You Should Know Before You Book

How quickly can someone get to my house?

Because our trucks are staged near York, average arrival windows run faster than what national chains typically offer.

Will I know the cost before you begin the repair?

Our policy is simple: you approve the number before we touch the system.

What emergency Ductwork Repair services are available in York?

Our emergency line runs 24 hours a day, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Do you carry insurance for work done in my home?

We maintain current credentials because it protects both our customers and our team.

How do I know if I need a repair or a full replacement?

As a general guideline, if a system is past 12-15 years old and facing a costly repair, replacement often makes more financial sense.

What does your maintenance plan include?

Ask your technician about current plan pricing during any service call.

What areas around York do you serve?

We cover York and the surrounding communities, including the zip codes listed in our coverage section below.

Do you work on business HVAC systems too?

Property managers and business owners can request a dedicated point of contact for ongoing service.

Can you work on a system installed by another company?

Our technicians are trained across the major residential and commercial equipment lines, not limited to a single manufacturer.

Do you offer financing for new system installations?

Ask about financing during your in-home estimate to see what fits your situation.

What's a normal tune-up schedule?

Most York homes benefit from two tune-ups a year — one before cooling season and one before heating season.

What should I do while I'm waiting for a technician during an emergency?

Check that the thermostat has power and the batteries aren't dead, and check your breaker panel for a tripped switch before calling.

Will an emergency call cost more?

We'd rather quote it honestly on the phone than have you feel ambushed by the bill.

What's the average time on-site for a service call?

Straightforward fixes like a capacitor swap or a thermostat replacement are often finished in well under an hour.

Is my presence required during the appointment?

For most residential visits, yes, an adult should be present to grant access and approve any quoted work.

York is a city in Sumter County, Alabama, United States. Founded around 1838 after the merging of two communities, Old Anvil and New York Station, the latter a station on a stagecoach line. The rail came through in the 1850s and later, the "New" was dropped from York Station in 1861. With the discovery that another community in Alabama bore that name, the "Station" was dropped and York was formally incorporated on April 6, 1881. At the 2010 census the population was 2,538, down from 2,854 in 2000. From 1920 to 1980, it was the largest town in the county. Since 1990, it has been the second largest city behind the county seat of Livingston.
